Productions From Media Awards 2012 Analyse.

The two media productions from the awards which stood out for me was, 'The Paper Boy' and 'Inner Redemption'

The reason why I enjoyed watching 'The Paper Boy' is because, it really kept me appealed and intrigued in watching it; my focus was entirely on the trailer. The parallel sound used in this trailer especially at the beginning was really effective because it went with the clip and also the sound could foreshadow danger, which is going to take place later on in the film. Also sound created a mysterious and frightening atmosphere, which would hook the audience attention straight away. At the beginning, a panning shot is used to highlight the first shot of the setting which is of a school. This could be symbolic because, the school could represent where all the bad things happened as they used a monochrome shot (black and white). Additionally  the beginning highlights to the audience it is a flashback because it says '10 years later' therefore, we know it is going to be about the young boy who got bullied and the impact it had on him when he was little; we can tell if it is a flashback by the monochrome shots. Furthermore, at 0:38 a medium shot is used of the boy who got bullied when he was younger, and from his facial expressions he looks angry. 0:43-0:49, a tracking shot is used to convey the character actions as she is running up the straights, which could suggest danger. Once she gets into the elevator with the boy standing next to her, automatically the audience would know something vicious is going to happen; also the parallel sound helps to create a up tight scary atmosphere. Moreover, the shot of the drawing of a boy and girl on the wall saying 'revenge' is significant because, it relates to the girl and the boy in the previous shot; could be an enigma code. Furthermore  a point of view shot is used at 1:05, of an individual looking at the car mirror and seeing the 'paper boy' and non-diegetic sound is used of a heartbeat, which could connote death to come. Towards the end of the trailer, shows the audience a flashback of the boy and what he went through in high school. The parallel sound used in that clip almost sounds like a clock ticking which is effective because it creates tension and suspense  also it connote that the boy now wants revenge due to what he has been through. The genre is horror which is clearly shown.
www - the camera shots used throughout the trailer was good & the editing.
ebi - everything was great. One small ebi it would be that they could of showed a bit of why the boy used to get picked on at school; make the narrative more understandable.

At the beginning of the trailer, I thought the film would be a romance due to the parallel music which goes very well with the establishment shot of the sunset which then links to the two characters meeting. The medium shots are used of both of the male and female characters to convey a connection between them and the long shot of both characters walking on London bridge, highlights to the audience affection between them both. They edited those two specific shots really well because they link great with each other, in showing the audience romance/love. Furthermore, the sound changes drastically connoting danger to come further on in the film and editing of the trailer is brilliant because, all of the clips go well with one another. Towards the end of the trailer, at 2:12 high key lighting is used to show the shadows of the protagonist getting changed as there is an unknown person behind her; this is effective because it creates suspense and tension.
www - great editing and sound.
ebi - the whole production was well therefore I do not think there is anything that should of been improved.
